According to information from open sources, in 2023 an organization was registered in Kazakhstan and continues to operate that, in its name, emphasizes a connection with the Perm-36 Museum.
The website Wikipedia links the activities of this NGO to the name of Viktor Shmyrov, the founder of the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization (ANO) “Perm-36.” In this regard, public organizations and private individuals have requested clarification as to whether the Kazakhstani legal entity “Virtual Museum ‘Perm-36’” (headed by Y. S. Balabanova) is our branch.
We state that the activities of the cultural institution “Virtual Museum ‘Perm-36’” have nothing in common with and are not connected to Viktor Shmyrov—the founder of the “Perm-36” brand and the creator of its virtual version.
The name “Virtual Museum ‘Perm-36’” is being used by this organization in bad faith, without any rights to its use. In fact, this name has been unlawfully appropriated.
The creators of the Perm-36 Museum and its online version, the “Virtual Museum ‘Perm-36,’” bear no responsibility whatsoever for the actions of the Kazakhstani NGO.
