On Saturday, June 11, an expedition of the inclusive theater laboratory “Experience Gatherers” took place. Its goal was to record the soundscape of the former NKVD special site “Kommunarka”. In the 1930s-1940s this place was a firing range for those who were sentenced to death in a secret manner.
Participants of the research group visited the memorial cemetery to record the variety of sounds that form the atmosphere of the memorial site. These recordings will be used to create a play about Kommunarka, which will be presented in October 2022.
